Jan's favorite helmet (retired)148 viewsThis was a real beauty of a partial coverage helmet, made of the highest quality protective materials, self-certified by the manufacturer as compliant with federal laws that apply to new helmets. It even had a secondary retention system in addition to a primary retention system. The aerodynamics and light weight of this helmet made it ideal for no fatigue and neck strain during long rides, and most weather conditions. The only problem from wearing this one was when the eager NC Highway Patrol trooper nearly ran Jan down with his SUV in what seemed to be road rage. They pull up recklessly close behind you in order to try and get you to run. After two days of trial in Wake County Superior Court, it is now retired for 5 years, under orders of Judge Donald Stephens, for no obvious reason because the Judge refused to document an explanation.

Phil's Lid141 viewsPhil from North Carolina appears all set for either the prom or a formal appearance in District Court, with the latest in domestic lids. Absolutely stunning, this helmet is made of the finest heavy duty fabric materials and has a heavy duty strap with quick release to compliment the primary retention system. Wearing this kind of lid gives Phil that really pissed off look which comes standard with this fine selection of partial coverage helmet which has a label on it which pays homage to the goddess, DOT. It practically screams 'Buy American!" Phil is not yet a member of B.O.L.T. but appears to be someone with a purpose and definitely worth watching! Thank you Phil.

Southern Cal Summer Lid50 viewsIf you have to wear 'em in the summer, why fry your brains in a helmet that prevents heat dissipation and causes heat stroke or loss of concentration on the road? The So Cal Summer Lid is from a B.O.L.T. of California member.
